A major fire has engulfed Fresh FM (105.9 FM), a popular radio station owned by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele in the Felele/Challenge area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

A staff member of the station first reported the blaze via X (formerly Twitter), urgently calling on the Fire Service to respond and asking the public to help circulate the alert. In his plea, he wrote: “Fresh FM is currently on fire! We urgently need the Fire Service to respond immediately. Please retweet, spread the word and alert the nearest station.” He later captioned another post simply: “What a night.”

Reports indicate that the fire broke out on Friday night and specifically affected Fresh 105.9 FM in the Challenge district. The station’s management has yet to issue an official statement.

The General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services, Rev Akinyemi Akinyinka, confirmed that firefighters were on the ground and that the situation was under control. However, the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire remain unknown.

Fresh FM, founded in 2015 by Yinka Ayefele, is one of the most popular radio stations in Oyo State, known for its engaging talk shows, music programmes, and public affairs content.
