The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially pegged 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This decision was announced following the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, which brought together stakeholders in the education sector, including heads of tertiary institutions, regulatory agencies, and other key players.

According to JAMB, the cut-off marks for other categories of institutions were also set as follows: 140 for colleges of nursing and 100 for both colleges of agriculture and colleges of education.

The Board emphasized that while institutions are at liberty to set their own admission benchmarks above these minimum thresholds, none would be allowed to admit candidates below the national minimum standards.

This move is part of efforts by JAMB to ensure uniformity, transparency, and fairness in the admission process while allowing institutions some flexibility to maintain academic standards based on their specific requirements.
